Answer

You can apply for a library card online or in person.  Fill out the online application to obtain a temporary library card, which will then provide you with 60 days of access to online resources such as e-books, e-magazines, and downloadable audiobooks.

To obtain a library card with full borrowing privileges, visit the Library in person within 60 days of submitting your library card application.  On the day you visit, please arrive at least 15 minutes before closing time, and present proof of your residence address along with valid photo identification to a staff member at one of our Circulation Desks.

Examples of acceptable proof are:

Valid California Driver's license, California identification card, or other Picture ID with current residence address (a hand-written residence address on the back is not acceptable)

  •     Current Vehicle Registration
  •     Current Temporary Driver's License
  •     Current rent receipt
  •     Recent (60 days) utility bill
  •     Current property tax bill
  •     Current (60 days) imprinted statement, such as Mastercard or Visa

Note: A Post Office Box is not acceptable.

Children under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or legal guardian present in order to get a library card with full borrowing privileges.

If you lose your card, notify the library immediately.  A $5.00 replacement fee will be charged for lost library cards.
