Thousand Oaks Reads - One City, One Book

The library sponsors the "One City, One Book" program, which is an annual citywide event in which residents are encouraged to read the same book, and then come together for book discussions, arts and crafts, and other programming relevant to the selected title.

Next Chapter Book Club
The "Next Chapter Book Club" is for young adults with developmental disabilities. For more information, please contact Tina Lee at 805-381-7318.
Friendly Book Discussion Group
Although not sponsored by the library, one other book club does use the library's meeting rooms for their book discussions.  It is called the "Friendly Book Discussion Group." This group is sponsored by the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library.
Contact:  leader Sai Chandavarkar at (805) 241 - 5205 or  E-mail:
This group meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Technology Training Room. Friendly Book Discussion books are labeled "Book Discussion Group," and are shelved on a wooden shelf near the Rental books at the Grant R. Brimhall Library.  Friendly Book Discussion books in the library, like Rental books, are first-come-first-served.  They cannot be placed on Hold or Reserved.
History Book Discussion Group
The History Book Discussion Group is also sponsored by the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library.  This book group meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road (next door to the GRB Library).  For more information, contact Beth Oetken at (805) 494-0141.
