I am going on vacation. Can I freeze or suspend my holds on eBooks?

Yes, Overdrive has a new feature that allows you to suspend your hold, and keep your place in line. 

Simply log in to Overdrive on your device, or any computer, and go to “My Account” and view your “Holds” page. 

For each title on Hold, you now have the option to select “Suspend Hold” for various numbers of days.  Select the number of days that match your needs, and your hold will keep its place in line. Your hold will automatically re-activate on the day specified.  Each title on your hold list may be suspended individually, so if you wish to suspend more than one title, be sure and set the option for each one.
