How to look for photographs at the Thousand Oaks Library website

The best place to start is in our Virtual Library, under Special Collections.  We have a page devoted to the photograph collections:

https://research.tolibrary.org/specoll/photo-collections

This page has links to the materials that are currently online, and descriptions of the major photo collections at the Thousand Oaks Library.

If you are not finding what you hoped to see, you can contact us through Ask-a-Librarian, to have a staff member do an in-depth search.

To see if there were local news articles about the subject, you can also search our Local News Index (LNI), https://search.tolibrary.org:446/search/w

The Local News Index provides a searchable database of keywords, names, subjects and dates; it does not provide digital copies of newspaper content. The LNI Coverage is primarily from January, 1982 - April, 2016, with some material from before 1982 from our scrapbooks.  It includes articles found in the Thousand Oaks News Chronicle, Ventura County Star, Daily News, and a few other papers.
