The California State Parks pass is a program that begins on April 18, 2022, and allows free access to selected parks.

The Park Pass is checked out from the Thousand Oaks or Newbury Park library for one week and must be returned to the Library, so that others may enjoy the opportunity to visit State Parks.  Park Passes cannot be renewed.

We have a limited number of passes, and you may place a hold on a pass through our library catalog.

What if all the passes are checked out?  Are there other low cost/no cost options?

Yes - if you are a 4th Grader or parent of a 4th grader, the Adventure Pass program can get you into 19 different parks for free https://www.parks.ca.gov/AdventurePass

Yes - if you are a client of CalWORKS, you can get a free Golden Bear pass, see https://cdss.ca.gov/goldenbearpass to sign up.

Yes - if you are a senior citizen over 62 years of age, see https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=23800 For Senior discounts and passes.

The California State Park Pass program is limited to certain parks, and does not include nearby popular Beaches. See the State Parks FAQ page for information about available parks in the program. Terms of use are here https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=30815
