What should I do if I accidentally returned an item to the wrong library?

I accidentally returned a TO library book/dvd to another library...

I accidentally returned a school library book to TO library....

I accidentally returned my own book to the TO library....

Answer

If you accidentally dropped an item in our book drop, please let us know by using Ask-a-Librarian or by calling us at 805-449-2660, option 3, and letting us know.

During COVID, it will be about 4 days before the dropped items can be searched.  As soon as the item is found it will be made available for you to pick up at curbside.

If not picked up, items for other libraries will be mailed to the owning library on a monthly basis.
